These terms are the agreement between you and Universal Rockstar Studios Private Limited (“URS”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company in Mumbai, India. They cover universalrockstarstudios.com and everything we offer through it or link to these terms. That includes our films, series and games, studio and advertising services, the URS Academy, apps, and any AI creation tools, accounts, credits, subscriptions, APIs or agents we provide (together, the “Services”).
The short version. You must be 18 or older, or have a parent's consent where the law allows. You own what you make with our tools; we own our films, characters, games and technology. Do not use our Services to deepfake, harass, deceive or break the law. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Disputes go first to a friendly conversation, then to arbitration in Mumbai under Indian law. This summary is here to help you. The full terms below are what legally apply.
Some Services described here, such as user accounts, credits, subscriptions and developer access, are being rolled out in stages. Each section applies to a Service once it is available to you. If you use our Services for a business, you accept these terms on its behalf and confirm you are authorised to do so. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
URS is an AI-native entertainment studio. Depending on what you use, the Services may include:
We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the Services for your own personal or internal business purposes, as long as you follow these terms. Titles, loglines, formats, prices and timelines shown on the website are indicative. Nothing on the website is an offer you can accept on its own.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. A younger person may use the free parts of the website, and join Academy programmes we specifically open to them, only with the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms for them.
Give us accurate, current information and keep it up to date. Keep your login private. Do not share, sell or transfer your account. You are responsible for everything that happens under it, so tell us straight away at media@universalrockstarstudios.com if you think someone else has accessed it. We may reclaim a username that infringes someone else's rights or misleads people. If we have previously banned you, do not open a new account.
If your organisation gives you access to a shared workspace, its owner or administrators pay for it, control its settings and can see, manage, move or remove the content and activity inside it. Credits and content in a workspace belong to that workspace, not to individual members.
We are always improving. We may add, change, replace or retire features, templates, AI models or model versions at any time. We may also set usage limits, such as requests per minute, file sizes, generation length, storage or compute. Do not try to get around those limits, for example by opening several accounts. If we materially reduce what a paid plan offers, or remove a paid feature entirely, we will try to warn you in advance. You may then cancel the affected plan and get a pro-rata refund of the unused, prepaid part. Swapping one underlying model for a comparable one is not, by itself, a reduction.
Anything you upload or type into the Services, such as text prompts, reference images, footage, audio, scripts or characters, is your “Input”. What the Services generate from it is your “Output”. As far as the law allows, we do not claim ownership of your Inputs or Outputs, and we do not restrict your commercial use of Outputs. Your rights in Outputs you have exported continue after your subscription ends or your account closes, and you can pass them on to your clients.
By submitting an Input, you confirm that you have every right, licence and consent needed to use it, including from anyone whose name, face, voice or likeness appears in it. You also confirm that using it with the Services will not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights, and that no one else needs to be paid for that use.
So we can run the Services, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, process, adapt, translate and display your Inputs and Outputs. Our service providers can share this licence only to the extent they need it to help us. It lasts while the content is on the Services and ends when you delete the content or your account. The exceptions are short-lived backup copies, anything you have already shared publicly, and anything we must keep by law.
We may use Inputs and Outputs from self-serve accounts, in de-identified form wherever practical, to maintain, secure and improve our tools and models. This includes content moderation and quality review. You can stop this going forward by deleting the content or your account, or by emailing us to opt out. We never use material from studio clients, commissioned work, licensing partners or enterprise customers to train models. That material is treated as confidential.
We will feature your Outputs in our marketing only if you have made them public on the Services, for example in a community gallery or a contest, or if you give us permission. We will never showcase private work or work you made for a client without your consent.
AI can produce similar results for different people. Another user may get an Output that looks like yours, and we cannot promise any Output is original, exclusive or registrable as intellectual property. You are responsible for checking an Output before you rely on it or publish it.
Apart from your content, URS and its licensors own the Services and everything in them. That includes the URS name and logos, all our films, trailers, series, anime, characters, worlds, scripts, key art, music, games such as Ember Run, the Rockstar Stack and URSA Core technology, software, course materials and the design of this website. All of this is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may watch, play and share links. You may not copy, download, re-upload, adapt, distribute or commercially use our material, or remove any copyright notice, watermark or credit, without our written permission.
Our stories and characters are fictional. Any resemblance to real people is coincidental. Where a property draws on a real place, public project, history or mythology, that does not imply any connection with, or endorsement by, anyone.
Advertising campaigns, VFX, custom games, apps and licences of our properties are provided only under a separate written agreement, such as a proposal, statement of work, licence or purchase order signed or accepted by both sides. That agreement sets out the scope, deliverables, fees, milestones, revisions, territory, languages, term, exclusivity and who owns what. If it conflicts with these terms, the agreement wins for that project. Unless it says otherwise:
Your seat in a cohort is confirmed only when we have received payment and sent you written confirmation. Schedules, mentors, tools and syllabus may be adjusted to keep the course current. If we cancel a cohort, you can choose a full refund or a seat in the next one.
Lessons, recordings, templates, prompts and project files are for your personal learning only. You may not share logins, record or re-upload sessions, or resell or republish course material. The work you create in class is yours, under section 4.
We teach real skills, but we cannot promise any income, job, channel growth, views or platform approval. Earnings figures, niche research and case studies are examples, not guarantees. A certificate records that you completed a course. It is not a government-recognised qualification unless we say so.
Treat mentors and classmates with respect. We may remove anyone who harasses others, shares course material without permission or disrupts sessions, and no refund applies in that case.
Payments are handled by trusted payment partners, and we do not store your full card details. By paying, you authorise us and our payment partner to charge the fees shown at checkout or on your invoice. Unless stated otherwise, prices exclude Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other applicable taxes, which are added where required. You are responsible for any bank, currency or card fees. If a payment fails or is reversed without good reason, we may pause the paid Services until it is settled.
Some creation tools use credits. Credits are a prepaid right to use the Services. They are not money, have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash (except where the law requires), and can only be used within their validity period:
We may change how many credits a feature costs going forward. Our metering is the official record of credit use. Unused credits end when your account closes, subject to section 22.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before a price increase takes effect at your next renewal. If a renewal payment fails, you have 14 days to fix it, during which we may limit access. An upgrade applies straight away and charges the difference. A downgrade applies from your next renewal and may remove features. A free trial turns into a paid plan when it ends unless you cancel before then. You can cancel any time in your account settings or by emailing us from your account email. Access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
“Unlimited” plans are for normal individual creative use. They are subject to fair-use limits, may be queued or slowed during busy periods, and do not allow automated, resold or shared bulk use.
To request a refund, email media@universalrockstarstudios.com from your account email. We aim to process approved refunds within 14 working days to the original payment method. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other consumer laws that apply to you.
You must not use the Services, or ask the Services to create anything, that:
You also must not:
We may report serious violations, and the related account information, to law-enforcement authorities.
Only upload a person's face, body or voice if you have their clear consent, or a parent's consent for a minor, and have given them any notice the law requires. Our tools must not be used to identify, verify or track people, and we do not use uploaded faces or voices for that purpose. Do not upload biometric templates. Do not put sensitive personal data in prompts, whether yours or anyone else's: government ID numbers such as Aadhaar or PAN, bank or card details, passwords, health information or precise location. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy and follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where it applies, the GDPR.
We may add visible labels, invisible watermarks or content credentials (such as the C2PA standard) to Outputs so they can be recognised as AI-generated. Do not remove or hide these. When you publish Outputs, follow the platform rules and laws that require you to label AI-generated or synthetic content, including India's rules on synthetically generated information and the AI disclosure rules of YouTube, Meta and similar platforms. We cannot guarantee that every Output carries, or keeps, a marking.
We may, but do not have to, review content on the Services, using both automated tools and people. We may refuse to generate, remove, restrict or label any Input or Output that we reasonably believe breaks these terms or the law, puts people at risk or exposes URS to liability. We may do this without notice where the matter is serious or urgent, and may suspend accounts under section 22. We may also disclose information when the law, a court or a government authority requires it, or when needed to protect people's safety or rights.
To report content or raise a complaint, write to our Grievance Officer at media@universalrockstarstudios.com with the subject line “Grievance”. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days, in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. If content shows a person in an intimate or sexual way without their consent, or impersonates them, and that person or their representative reports it, we will remove or disable access to it within 24 hours of a valid complaint. Once you are told that content breaks these terms or someone's rights, stop using and sharing it, delete it from your systems and do not generate it again.
If you believe something on the Services infringes your copyright or other intellectual property, send a notice to media@universalrockstarstudios.com (subject: “IP complaint”). Include:
We will act quickly and may remove or disable the material. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice with the same details and your explanation. Knowingly false notices can lead to legal liability. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
If we give you access through an API, integration, command-line tool, MCP connector or AI agent:
Some features rely on AI models, cloud infrastructure, payment partners, analytics or platforms run by other companies. Links and integrations to other websites are provided for convenience. When you use a feature powered by a third-party model, you also agree to follow that provider's acceptable-use policy, and where its rules are stricter, they apply. We are not responsible for other companies' services, content, availability or privacy practices, or for how they perform.
We welcome feedback, and we may use it freely without paying you or crediting you. We develop many original concepts internally, and some may resemble ideas we are sent. If you send us an unsolicited idea, script, pitch or proposal, that does not create any obligation of confidentiality, partnership, credit or payment unless we have agreed to one in writing beforehand.
The Services, Outputs, games, courses and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate or fit for a particular purpose. Nor do we promise that Outputs will be original, lawful to use in your situation or free of third-party material. AI results can be wrong, strange or offensive, so review them before you use them. Speed and quality can vary with third-party infrastructure. Downloads are at your own risk. Nothing in this section removes rights that the law does not allow us to exclude.
To the fullest extent the law allows, URS, its directors, employees and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses. This covers lost profits, revenue, audience, data or goodwill, business interruption, and the cost of substitute services, even if we were told such losses were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the relevant Service in the six months before the claim arose, or (b) ₹10,000. These limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, or to anything else the law does not allow us to limit. A separate project agreement may set a different cap. These limits are a fair part of the price and the balance of risk between us.
You agree to compensate and defend URS against claims, losses, penalties and reasonable legal costs arising from: your content, or your lack of rights or consent for it; how you use Outputs; your breach of these terms or the law; or your infringement of someone else's rights. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by our own fraud or wilful misconduct. This obligation continues after your account closes.
You can stop using the Services at any time. To close your account, use your account settings or email us from your account email.
We may suspend or close your account straight away for a serious or repeated breach. Examples include illegal or non-consensual content, material harmful to children, getting around limits or safety systems, misusing API keys, reselling access without permission, non-payment, or where the law requires it. For smaller breaches, we will warn you where practical and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also close an account or end a Service for any other reason with reasonable notice.
Your right to use the Services ends. If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused, prepaid part of your subscription and any unused purchased credits. If we close it for a breach, fees are not refundable and credits are forfeited, except where the law says otherwise. Sections that by their nature should survive continue after closure, including ownership, indemnity, limits of liability and disputes.
After an account is deleted, its content can be restored for 30 days on request. After that it is permanently deleted from our active systems, apart from backups that expire on a rolling basis, de-identified or aggregated data, and anything we must keep by law. Content already used under section 4.4 before deletion cannot be withdrawn from past improvements, but it will not be used again. Accounts with no sign-in, activity or paid plan for 12 months may be treated as inactive. We will email you before moving their content to slower archive storage or deleting it. Please keep your own copies of anything important.
We run the Services from India and they may be available worldwide. If you use them from elsewhere, you are responsible for following your local laws. You confirm that you are not in a country under comprehensive sanctions or on a government restricted-parties list, and that you will not export the Services in breach of export-control or sanctions laws. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services without giving a reason. When you ask us to start supplying digital content or services during that period, you agree that you lose the right of withdrawal for what has already been supplied, and you pay proportionately for any service already provided. Mandatory consumer protections in your country are not affected by these terms.
Most problems can be solved quickly. Before starting formal proceedings, email media@universalrockstarstudios.com with your name, account email, a description of the issue and what you would like done. Both sides agree to try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.
If the issue is not resolved, either side may refer it to final and binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, before a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement. The seat and venue will be Mumbai, India, the language English, and hearings may take place online. Each side pays its own legal costs unless the arbitrator decides otherwise. Claims should be brought individually, not as a class or representative action, to the extent the law permits.
Either side may go to court for urgent interim relief or to protect intellectual property. If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away your right to approach a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission or another forum that the law guarantees you.
We may update these terms as our Services and the law develop. We will change the “last updated” date above. For material changes, we will give you reasonable notice, normally at least 30 days, by email or on the Services, before they take effect. If you keep using the Services after the effective date, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and cancel any paid plan, and the earlier terms will continue to apply to you until your current paid period ends.
